A native of Texas, Donna Howell-Sickles grew up on a ranch in north Texas, a place that provided the first inspiration for her love of nature and the animals reflected in her work. She decided to become an artist in college while earning her Bachelor of Fine Arts from Texas Tech University in Lubbock. Since that time, her art and her family have been the center of her life. Donna Howell-Sickles’ paintings of vibrant cowgirls are in several museum collections nationwide, including the Buffalo Bill Historical Center in Cody, Wyoming, the National Museum of Wildlife Art, in Jackson, Wyoming and the Tucson Museum of Art, as well as many private and corporate collections.
